MegaJolt on a mini with Weber 45

I am thinking about converting to Megajolt and i'm not sure whether to go for MAP sensor or TPS.
I have a 1380, weber 45, 296 cam and i'm not sure if that would give uneven pressure for the MAP sensor.
I would prefer to use MAP as it's easier to set up.
Thanks,
Mark.

Hi Mark,
Sounds like you've read the MAP vs. TPS topic
http://www.autosportlabs.net/index.php? ... MAP_or_TPS ?
Sounds like you might be right at the edge with the cams you're running. Is your idle very lumpy or uneven? You could also check with the manufacturer of those cams to see what they might think about the vacuum stability at idle.
Another option is to create a large vacuum reservoir to smooth the pulses from each runner, and then reference the MAP sensor from that reservoir.

This works very well - there's an empty in-line fuel filter in the vacuum pipe to the MJLJ as well
...ahhh, easy posting of pics in the new forum. Nice

Exactly what I'd suggest.
THIS enclosure should be fine. Fit three bulkhead connections to this and run a hose from each inlet runner to the box, then one from the box to the MJLJ. The box then becomes an accumulator to dampen the vac signal as the MAP sensor sees it.
HOWEVER I know of a guy that was running a Weber on his 1293 Mini with 11-1 CR and a Kent 310AGSP cam with the simple tee-peice setup shown above.

Ahh, the joys of the RS web site with it's Broadvision session Ids
Got a part number for that enclosure?

Interesting adjustable top steady you've got there.

It's a stage rally car, but as it's not mine, I don't have any particular views on the top mount - but it looks pretty strong to me!

Exactly that

..and without his specific permission (but I'm sure it's OK) here's a pic of it in its class-winning, MJLJ-powered, outing on a recent national rally in the UK
Brent - maybe there's an opportunity for a forum section for gratuitous pics of MJLJ-powered vehicles in action

Love the picture!
Hmm.. maybe I'll rename "Installation / success stories" to "Powered by MJLJ gallery"
