using temperature for map switching?
Would it be possible to use the dual map set-up to have a warmup map, and then a warm running map, using an engine temperature sensor and some external circuitry to give switching at a set temperature? Would be useful for me as my crossflow has a dislike of cold starting.
In the lab or in the car
Assuming that you already have an electrical temperature gauge, you could use a voltage sensing interface to switch the 'option' input high when the temp sensor to gauge wiring reached a chosen value.
If not then add a temp sensor and feed it from ignition through a 330R resistor. The junction of sensor to resistor will then be your detection point.
Have a look at the high performance auto series of kits on the www.jaycar.com.au site. I think there is one that would likely save doing any development work for just such a voltage sensing switch!
Don't forget that hysteresis is needed to prevent 'jitter' in the switching.
