Hello! Another new member (with some questions)!

Post by Edwardatherton »

Morning all!

I have a 1957 S1 Land Rover into which I have just installed a 2.5 petrol. It has an LPG system and a high-power coil running through a transistor-assisted ignition system from Maplins.

I do some off-roading but mainly use the LR every day for commuting 25 miles each way to work. When I see water (on or off-road) I tend to get a bit excited and drown the dizzy (and have to wait for it to dry out before continuing)! Hence why I am here now.

By the looks of things, installation won't be too difficult for me, hopefully...

1) Is the rev-limiter part of the kit, or a separate bit to add-on?
2) I like the idea of twin ignition maps, but is the switch and resistor (or whatever it is that's needed) included in the kit?

Thanks for any help, and I'm sure I will be around a lot from now on!!

1) There's a soft limiter built into the firmware. When the preset limit is reached the advance goes to 0 degrees - you can go beyond this, but you'd have to do it intentionally

2)No it's not, but you can get them for pennies in Maplins.
