I bought an engine with Megajolt installed about 2 years ago and have finaly got it running in my (still building) kit car a few months ago. This weekend it was my mission to interagate the Megajolt, i have installed Megajolt lite Configurator V3 and am running XP through a USB to Serial adaptor, so far so good.
I was running a safe 2D map by the looks of it and i changed that to a map that allows the Pinto to rev to 8000 with the rev limiter now set to 7200.
I am still reading about the Megajolt on this site and am begining to understand how it all works, ish.
First thing i need to know is how do i find out what Version of hardware/firmware i have without having to open the box?
1) When viewing in rutime, as i drag the line curser over different parts i am given details of that particular area and have seen -2068 revs to +10678 the rev counter on the Megajolt V3 config seems to be correct at half the value.
2) Rev limiter does not seem to kick in especially as i have seen over 5000rpm on the dash tacho when the rev limit was set to 5000rpm.
Let me get a handle on Kpa expected values, i am not in need of absolute values at this stage just an idea of what to expect.
I am seeing a max of 94Kpa and an idle of around 40Kpa, the maps bins are set from 0 through to 152, am i somware near.... four Mikunies with vacuum from top of carbs individually into the side a 12mm pipe which is open at each end and connected one end to the MAP sensor in the Megajolt and the other end to the Servo.
It all works but i get a niggly feeling there is much to do.
Last thing, how do i record the runtime and how do i review the results.
Thank you in antisapation
How to find which version i have?

Hello,
To determine what hardware version you have, you can pop open the cover and inspect the board. There is a distinctive difference between a V2 and V3 board. Compare your board with what you see on this page of our wiki:
http://www.autosportlabs.net/MegaJolt_Lite_Jr.
To determine what firmware you have, you can click "Help/About" in the configuration software. The version of the controller should be displayed.
For your 1) - I'm not entirely sure what you're asking. Perhaps you're talking about RPM acceleration data? in that case, I would start off just looking at RPM, load and advance. To simplify the view, you can turn off the other channels- there's a button in the runtime view that allows you to do this.
2) The MJLJ does not have built-in hard rev limiting. It first does a 'soft' rev limit 100 RPMs before the set point, and then at the hard limit it activates an output on the controller for triggering an external rev limiter. See the operation guide here: http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V3_Op ... #Rev_Limit for a full description.
For data logging, also see the Operation guide http://www.autosportlabs.net/MJLJ_V3_Operation_Guide - this describes how to use the datalogging features in the software.
Regards,
