Question about MJLJ place

Post by mariodantas »

Hi friends is Mario from France...

Well I have all that I need to perform the modification of my DOHC 8V and eliminate de dizzy but I have a couple of questions before proceeding.

Can I place the MJLJ under bonnet or maybe it needs to be placed into the car's dashboard ????

I mean, is the MJLJ protected (shielded) against humidity ?

best regards...

The MJLJ mechanical construction, and the electrical components within it, are not suitable for the engine bay environments - somewhere in the cabin is best.

For example:
- the Molex connector is not sealed in the end plate (although a glue gun/silicon sealant would see to that!)
- there are no gaskets on the end plates
- the RS232 connector is not sealed
- mounting the ICs in sockets might not be the right answer for an engine bay
- the components aren't specifically rated for possibl eengine bay temperature extremes - ie in the order of -20C to 100C (or more)
