Hi guys, had a bit of a rolling road session the other day, to try and map the MJ on my mini. Communicates fine, with engine running and just with ignition on, and programming and uploading is fine. But, when we started doing power runs, the software keep hanging. Mainly when its on full throttle about 3-4k rpm. The needles in the configurator just stop where they are and the software no longer displays real time timing figures. If I unplug the USB to serial lead (prolific) the needles drop to zero, and then wont do anything unless I force the program to close.
I tried another MJ unit (I have 2) and does exactly the same thing. Reinstalled the config software, still does it.
Could it be the serial to USB cable causing this? If so, why?
Cheers
Ross.

Hi Ross-
Some USB-Serial converters are more prone to electrical interference than others. I would first recommend putting an extension on the serial cable so the usb-serial adapter and computer can be positioned further away from the running engine. Also, you could try a different usb-serial adapter, or a computer with a built-in COM port.
