Short version. Can I connect the shift light output to ground through another device without damaging the MJ?
Long version.
I'm in need of an additional Hi Vis oil pressure warning light.
Rather than installing a new light, it has occurred to me that I could use one of the segments of the shift lights.
Currently, I have a dual LED shift light setup up, with a bank of yellow LEDs lighting, followed by red and yellow together. If I connect the oil pressure switch in parallel with the MJ shift output, it means that red illuminated by itself would indicate low oil presssure.
The advantage is that I will not have to drill and mount an additional lamp, plus the shift light cluster is already close to my sight line.
Will this setup work? Is grounding the MJ output likely to cause any porblems, especially since it will not be to a common ground?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Sounds fine to me.
The MJLJ outputs are essentially just switches to ground (when activated, otherwise they are open circuit*) so you can put another switch (the oil pressure switch) in parallel with them.
Not sure what you mean about not being common grounds - how many grounds have you got? Surely only one!
* ... although they can be set up to be grounded normally and open circuit when activated, via the Configurator
