Post by gav »

Hello, unfortunately my laptop broke and i have to reinstall the MJ, i have downloaded the V3 version but what is the firmware programming software? I'm sure last time i just downloaded the firmware and didnt need the software or am i being blonde lol. Also how do you allocate the com port initially as it says to do this beforehand. Thanks

I think i know the answer to my own question, there is only the config software and firmware software to download which means the first sentence of this http://www.autosportlabs.net/V3.2.x_/_2 ... ware_image is wrong?

Hi Gav,

The firmware programming software is only for 'flashing' a new program into the MJLJ itself. If you're just re-installing the configuration software on a new laptop, don't worry about this.

Regarding the com port- simply figure out what com port you will use on your computer, (look under Windows Device Manager) and then set that in the Controller Options of the Configuration software.

Also documented here:

Hi Gav,

As I understood your message, you laptop 'broke' so you are just re-installing the PC configuration software (onto a new laptop? your fixed laptop?) .

Regardless: if this is correct, you do not need to do anything with the MJLJ box itself.
