V4 Reverting to Default Map

Post by Dean924s »

As the title said.

I have a V4 running MAP using a cam triggered set up on my 1987 924s

Every now and then my unit reverts back to the default map that it was shipped with. My car runs ok with it but it definitely is much happier with the map I have developed. It is a bit disconcerting as it seems to do it at random.

Sometimes the car just starts up with the default map other times there is a hesitation (it can be at any throttle position or any RPM) and then I am running the other map. I really have not looked in to the map switching set up on this but I am wondering if it may have something to do with it.

Since I am using this car as my computer it is getting quite a few miles put on it.

Any idea's, in-site, or suggestions are appreciated!

If it's reverting to the default map then make sure you're flashing the memory after writing. It's a separate step after updating the ignition map (think of RAM vs. saving to HD).

So once you're done updating your map, be sure to click the "flash" button, which is to the right of the update button in the toolbar.

You can prove the data is written to memory by writing, flashing, power cycling the controller, then re-reading the ignition config data from the controller.

Ahhh that has to be it!. I bet that is the issue. I was not doing that. I will let you know.

I will play with it before my drive to the office tomorow.

That was it. It is working absolutely flawlessly. It also eliminated the occasional miss / hiccup I was getting.
