Can I run the new config software on a V3 Megajolt Lite Jr

Post by xwdewar »

Hi guys I have a V3 megajolt and would like to know if I can run the V4 config software, I have been upgrading my motor on my car and is now a 1999 inline 6 in a 1969 XW Ford Falcon, Australian.

I have read about some of the updates for the V4 config and how much easier it is to adjust the Ignition map, for example selecting a qty of cells instead of single cells.

Or do I need to upgrade to the V4 ?

Cheers
Rob

Hi Rob,

The V4 config software won't work with the V3 hardware. But, there's good news.

See the following:

http://www.autosportlabs.org/viewtopic.php?t=2100

The updated V3 config software is designed to work with the new V3 firmware (still BETA testing). Most of the features you're seeking has been migrated over, and more.

You may want to consider jumping in to beta test the new firmware - aside from new features there are some minor bug-fixes in there as well.

Thanks for that Brent, outstanding support for your product.

I will try to get motivated to download the new version and get tuning again.

The old girl is running fine at the moment but I have changed fuel to straight LPGas and get the odd backfire at startup, this may be a combination of leads, plugs and timing so I will need to get it sorted.

Cheers again for the quick response.

I also experienced backfire at startup (only on LPG, petrol startups are OK). When the engine is cold I have no problems, but when it's warm, if I press accelerator slightly (and I always do when I start on LPG) i get one backfire. If I loft my foot off and then start - no backfires.

Tell me if you solve this problem.
