Hi there need some help.
I've got to the point at which I'm trying to connect everything up. e.g Laptop has software on, Cable checked, Edis system wired up and in place. Thought I'd power the thing up insitue in the car.
And can't seem to connect to megajolt. So checked the power again to megajolt and +12.4v in.
So thought I'd check the board itself again. And the only thing thats concerning me is that, On a the fully builtup board I'm only seeing 4.44 Volts across the transistor array IC1, the same voltage as everywhere else in the supply chain. e.g @ U1,U2,QG1 all 4.44v.
So is this right or have I lost some on the way....? could this be the reason why the megajolt will not connect?
Hope you can help. (Megajolt V3 Board.)

Hi Ted,
Yes, the voltage on the transistor array should be close to your power supply.
You may want to refer back to the V3 schematics:
http://www.autosportlabs.net/asl_dist/m ... v3_sch.png
The band side of D2 should show a voltage close to your power supply. This feeds the "SAFE12V' section of the MJLJ circuit and is is also connected to the transistor array.
Test on both sides of D2, and check and retouch the solder joints on D2 and the other power supply components.
Let us know what you find out!

Right I think I've found my fault and corrected it. But now when I turn on the megajolt and try and connect to the PC. I get the following error.
Unsupported controller version.
MJLJ controller version 3.2.1 is not supported by this configurator. Please use a compatible version of MJLJ configurator, or update the controller firmware to one of the following versions apprpriate for your MJLJ hardware.

MJLJ controller firmware V3.3.0 (V3. x hardware)
MJLJ controller firmware V3.4.0 (V3. x hardware)

MJLJ controller firmware V2.10.0 (V2. x hardware)
So how do I move forward from here.?

Hi,
It looks like you downloaded the beta version of the MJLJ config software, which is not backwards compatible with your firmware.
Uninstall what you have and re-download the 3.2.1 software from here.

You should be good to go after this! Just make sure the MJLJ is properly controlling ignition advance- easiest way is to use a timing light.
