Dose any one know what the output is for shift light and how to connect it and also what is the best type of bulb to use ie LED or standerd bulb???

The output is GND when active
The output is GND when active, LEDs glow quicker and require less current to operate.
Standard bulb will be fine as long as it don't exceed 2N2222 max output. In that case you can use the 2N2222 signal to drive a relay or some other device tahat can handle the current safely.
