Just trying to connect to my V4 controller using a prolific USB/RS232 adapter and my brand new (today) Vista laptop, but just get a "Timeout reading cylinder count" message. In the device manager the adapter shows as COM4, and the configurator is set to the same, and the ECU is known working when we've built it and tested using a friend's XP laptop.
Any ideas what I might be missing guys?

Hello,
If possible, test your USB-serial adapter on a different computer (maybe your friend's laptop?).
Also, try the troubleshooting steps using a serial terminal application like HyperTerminal:
http://www.autosportlabs.net/Troublesho ... lt_Lite_Jr.
Vista does not have Hyperterminal installed by default, if I recall correctly. You can download it separately, or you can try a different program like realTerm.
Let us know what you find out!
