Option switch led wiring...

Here is how i have wired my option switch on my V4...

But the LED is lit all the time... what am i missing :S

hope someone can see what iv done lol!

Second time I have wrote this as I delited it

The reason is the switch should have a positive feed and it earths in the ECU. So what you have done is caused the ECU to get the positve feed through the LED supply

What you need to do is change the earth from the switch to a positive feed and then put the LED in line on the wire from the switch to the ECU.

My guess is it's earthing the LED through the Megajolt.

Swap it for a double pole switch.

Woah there geeky dude!

Don't put +12V on that pin of the ECU - it grounds the option output to enable the map switching. With the shift light and option outputs you'd feed it 12V so it earths through the ECU.
I'd try a diode in-line between the ECU and where your LED taps into the switch wire (with the marker bar pointing away from the ECU), to isolate the LED from the ECU.

i wired it by the instrucions on here, the switch doesn't need 12v, it just goes to ground...

The MJ is give about 5v through so the led is seeing both ends...

I cant change this switch for anything else...

Hmm, thinking about it, if i use i diode between the led and the option switch line... that should work... right?

Maybe some sleep will get me back on track!

my bad I was getting the shift light and the map switch mixed up, yep the map switch is to be earthed not a positive feed. Sorry.

No the switch is nothing liek that, the led and switch are completly seperate, to enable the user to wire in different ways.

Is there need for the diode in the line to the led? A led is basically a diode isn't it?
