Do you really mean that - rj11 on unit to rj45 on laptop? The rj45 on a laptop is an ethernet networking connection - not what you want to be using at all.79lancer wrote:...im going straight from rj11 on the unit to rj45 on the laptop

The normal cable is a 9-pin female D-type to rj11, where the D-type either:
- connects straight into the 9 pin male D-type serial port on the laptop
- connects into a 9 pin male D-type connector on the end of a USB adapter that then plugs into a USB port on the laptop.
Which type of cabling are you using? Did you make the cable yourself?
