Trigger wheel runout tolerances

Post by Broke4speed »

I have just mounted my trigger wheel (stock Escort), and since I have a terrible personal philosophy that involves doing most things myself...it's not quite centered. At the four cardinal points of the wheel, the sensor gap measures: 0.43mm, 0.70mm, 0.45mm, and 0.75mm. Is this considered too much runout or is it acceptable? If it's not ok, then I suppose I'll have to find a way to cut the teeth down (filing each tooth one by one seems to be the best way). Like I said, it's a terrible personal philosophy ;).

Ah, nevermind. My OCD got the better of me and I just got back from filing down each tooth to provide the same sensor gap. Guess I'd better start doing it right ;).
