Serial communications problem WinXP

I have just moved all my project stuff from one computer to another, from Win98se to WinXP.
I'v got my MegaSquirt running fine, but am having problems with MegaJolt. When I come to select the com port (same as works with Megasquirt,com1) I get an error msg in the command promt behind the Java app, "Unable to open serial port; Unknown com port "

I am assuming this is a problem with XP and Java, is their a fix?

How is the native win32 application going for MegaJolt. I heard of a member offering to develope one..
