hey all new to all this but reading a lot so picking it up slowly. i have a rebiult 3.9 efi hotwire type injection system in my defender (wasn't in there before) going great edis in and installed coil packs etc, the only trouble i have is the engine position for the ecu does it remain on the negative side of the distributor or can it be taken from an output on edis? of mjlj? i wanted to get rid of the distributor alltogether but if it has to stay then it has to stay... any help would be great....
cheers

Temporarily try using the tach output pin on the ECU, that's exactly the same as the EDIS' pin 11. That *should* works, as it's just a short to ground upon each ignition event, much like what the factory dizzy/coil connection shows. Failing that, leave the dizzy in place, just to give the ECU a signal

you could also use the diode trick at the coil packs.

if that doesn't work

The above works nicely - you just need four diodes (one for each coil) rather than two.NITROPIXIE wrote:you could also use the diode trick at the coil packs.
