Size triggerwheel

Post by laroguz »

If I make my own triggerwheel, is the diameter important?

No. They have been small enough to be hidden in a distributor(with different sensor) and as big as a flywheel. What matters is that the teeth and the spaces are the same size. It should look as much like a square wave as possible, and don't forget to properly position the missing tooth. Mine used the OE Ford escort wheel, a little bigger than 5".

No its not to an extent, neither is the size of tooth space to a degree.

What ever diameter size triggerwheel you go for try to aim to have a spacing of 1 to 1 with the teeth, but it doesn't have to be an exact 1 to 1 spacing.

What is important is that you get the teeth equal distance apart.

What sort of size were you thinking of??
