EDIS 8 apparent extra wire

Post by 37Pickup »

Hi all

Just wiring up the MJLJ and EDIS and discover that my EDIS 8 has an Orange/White wire on pin 2. This wire is not shown on any diagrams I can find. Anyone know what it is for or whether can be deleted.

Regards

Hi all
Just found this: http://www.hotrodders.com/forum/journal ... 5&reverse=

Says: Starting from the top of the EDIS-8 module (from right to left) here are the wire color codes followed by their functions: The grey one with the orange strip is the EDIS output signal. It relays crank positioning information between the VR sensor on the crank and the EDIS control box under the dash. The orange one with the white stripe is a diagnostic line to the ECU. This wire is unused in my application, so it is disregarded.

May help others.

Just to say hi and welcome to the forum.

There is always additional/plentiful information on EDIS units if you can't find any on here by googling EDIS wiring diagram, pin out, etc, etc.

What vehicle are you playing with??

Get some pics up in powered by section.

Hi

Building a 1937 Ford Pickup. Running a 351 Cleveland, Eaton M112, MJLJ, twin OHG LPG mixers, single 80mm TB, Davies Craig electric water pump, BTR 4 speed OD ECU controlled auto, sectioned 60mm, chopped 60mm, other than that pretty stock.

That sounds fantastic! Agreed, a brief write up with some pics in our "Powered By" section would be great!

Thanks britlude will do. These things are a bit of a worry while you getting your head around new stuff.
