Base timing correction

Post by gt6-v8 »

Hi my trigger wheel is slightly out, so I am 4 deg off the TDC, this means I am having to reduce each bin in the ignition map table by 4 degrees to match up the actual timing marks on the crank pulley (with timing gun)

(i know the timing is spot on as i did a piston stop measurement to calibrate.

my question

MJLJ v 3.2.1 - is thare a way i can alter the base timing by 4 degrees, so i dont have to have each bin adjusted?

(and yes i know that my limp home will be affected in spite of it)

thanks in advance

Martin

If you're running the V3 controller you can upgrade to the latest firmware. It's still marked as "beta" but has been reasonably well tested by several users. This new firmware has the feature you're seeking, plus other improvements:

Martin, I have a v3 and my wheel is off by 2.5 degrees. I programmed the advance offset to 2 degrees, and the Beta firmware/software works just fine.
