Today I got tired of soldering wires on connector pigtails and decided to take apart the module connector so I could crimp the wires to new terminal pins. The finished product is great, a seamless wiring harness! Plus this means I don't have to cut the wires next time I need to get the connector through the firewall.
Anyhow, it took me a little bit to figure out so I made a photo how-to on my blog if someone else wants to try in the future:
