Sheilded cable installation...

Post by ukmercman »

hello all!

in the process of installing bike carbs and megajolt onto my 1989 190e 2.5 16v.

got the EDIS installed and running in limp mode - all good. just taken delivery of the megajolt along with the delux loom kit and sheilded wire. i had previously installted the VR sensor to the EDIS module using 'normal' wire - just to check it all worked - looking to install it properly now!

the install manual states that the shield on the wire used to connect the VR sensor to the EDIS module needs to have the sheild connected to pin 7 on the EDIS module. how do I do this? Can i expose the shield, bunch it together, solder a wire to it and connect it that way?

any pics?

thanks all :)

Typically you extend the shield, twist it into it's own wire, and then solder it to the pigtail that is pin 7 on the EDIS connector. Put shrink wrap or tape around that joint to tidy it up.
