toothwheel as a triger wheel

Post by lars »

Hi there

I have a toothwheel similar to the on on the picture.
Is it possible to use that as trigerwheel. it have 32 tooth and is made og metal.
i remember to read the trigger wheel setup should be the same distance in its "up and down" teeth

i have it running in the car but i also have misfire.
the car is not adjused yet so it could be other things.

but the car i running steady in 800-900 rpm. the tach is working, and th TPS is show its position.
if i gas it up it starts to misfire in the carb. and the car is not running perfect.
my plan is to have one to adjust the carbs to the engine. but first i need to be sure the megajolt is working.

my engine setup is a PRV V6 3.0l with 2 tripple webers.

hope you understand my meening with this are fron Denmark so my spelling in english is not perfect.

The only trigger setup that will work with EDIS (and so Megajolt) is a 36-1 setup, so 36 "teeth" but with one of them removed. If you need a wheel to fit your engine then I am sure that we can find you something suitable. You can see the range on our website http://trigger-wheels.com/store/contents/en-uk/d5.html

If it is a magnetic material and a 36-1 pattern then it should work fine.

It Is magnetic :-)

But i was worried about the " trigger timing "
is not the same in " high" as in "low" but it doesent matter ??

GREAT then its not trigger problems i have...

Lars the high and low points of the triggerwheel do not have to be of equal values, you are correct.
