Misfire when starting

Post by Power Wagon »

For some reason, I am getting a misfire while cranking. About every 10 to 20 starts, it will backfire through the carb, kick against the starter, fire out the tailpipe, or otherwise demonstrate some random ignition firing.

As far as I can tell, I have good voltage to the EDIS system and grounding as well, and it never seems to ever have the slightest error once started - no missing, no popping, no unstable ignition ,etc.

Any suggestions?

I know you touched on it, but does it run absolutely smooth once started? How many cylinders does the engine have?

Also, what is the air fuel ratio your running at? What color are the plugs? You may be experiencing a lean condition.

I'm running propane. plug color is not relevant :)

don't think I'm lean, as it starts very well, even cold.
