Another VW engine...almost stock

I have a stock 1600cc dual port engine in my super beetle with dual solex/kadron carbs. There is currently no vacuum port on them.

Do i need a specific vacuum port or can i just install one on one of my or both of my manifolds and run them together?

I think that the best setup will be to have vacuum ports on both carbs tied toghether to a small volume canister (a fuel filter like thinghy) to smooth out the pulsations.

One carb may also work with the canister trick if you still have the stock camshaft.

In a way or another it will work.

I have mine setup in the way suggested (all though not a VW, the manifold is four indervidual ports). My ports 1 & 4 are linked together then run through the stabilizing caniter from a Ford Mondeo before going to the MJLJ. This seems to run well and the run time display showes a stable signal.

Yes, the 009 is terrible, this car falls flat on its face when i hit the gas good. It also has a terrible advance curve for this setup.

I am going to run vacuum from both manifolds to a canister then into the MJLJ from there.

Hopefully be doing this in the next couple weeks. Want to get some power and mileage out of this engine (as much as i can for now at least)
