MAP Connection

On a recent Rolling Road session the guy working on my car moved the MAP sensor tube from a take-off on the inlet manifold and put it on the vacuum connection on one of the carbs. I questioned this as MJ installation instructions says not to use the carb connection, he said in his experience it works better this way.

Should I leave the tube on the carbs or move back to the manifold?

Hi,

So long as they provide a stable, smooth vacuum reading it should be fine. You can attach a manual vacuum gauge to the new location and watch for any pulses under varying RPMs.

Thanks Brent, will get a vacuum gauge and test it.
