3 cylinder engine.

Post by parky1972 »

I know Megajolt works with Edis 4, 6 and 8.

Could it work on a 3 cylinder engine using an edis 6 and only using half of the bank?

Ta.

If not....
An option for Megajolt 2 perhaps?
:)

Hi Jason,

Many have used the EDIS system on fewer cylinders than what was designed for. Example, using an EDIS-4 on a 1 cylinder engine. You'd just leave the coil drive wires disconnected for the unused cylinder pairs.

Hope that helps!

I will tag on here rather than start a new tread.

Just got a megajolt E to run my Edis 8 on my V8 - ultimately this engine with go MS3X so the Megajolt will be excess to my needs so I was thinking of putting it in my Haflinger 2 cylinder engine.

I take it from the above comment, I can just use an EDIS 4 module and rig it to only fire half the coil pack - though I do have a 2 cylinder wasted spark coil pack that I could use.

Am I thinking on the right line - I assume the 36 teeth trigger wheel etc is still used.

Thanks

Garry

Hi - Yes, you still need to use a 36-1 trigger wheel in all cases.
