Wifi vs bluetooth tablet dash connectivity?

Post by TXBDan »

Hello all,

I'm excited to have just received my mk3 and am beginning to set it up.

When connecting a tablet to be used as the dash, is it preferable to connect via wifi or bluetooth? Is one more reliable or more responsive than the other? The dash will be hardwired to power so no worries about power consumption.

I also plan to connect a GoPro via wifi if that impacts the decision. If you can do RCP + GoPro + tablet on wifi, who is access point? The GoPro is normally the access point, can it act as a client or have multple clients? Maybe that's the problem.

Thanks,
Dan

Dan -

I have the dash display tablet connected via Bluetooth so that I can use wifi to connect to and control the GoPro. This also leaves the wifi on my tablet free to connect to a hotspot on my phone to stream telemetry.

Cheers,
Bryan

Agreed with above. Bluetooth to tablet + GoPro WiFi trigger is a good combination.
