Hi All,
I found the site excellent, and decided to build a MJLJ unit on my own.
My config:
Escort RS Turbo 1987 & MAP sensor (not mapped on rolling road yet)
On the test, the controller is working well, but i have read the "map switching on the fly" feature, and i don't know how to make it work i.e. no different maps in the config software (tried both 2.0.3 and 3.0.3) and tried every downloadable firmware
from the schematic, i tougt the "option" is the input is for the switching correct me if i'm wrong
!!! flashrs1988 i would appreciate to see Your map as a good start for me (as we have the same type car)
thanks for all the replies & help

Brent is the man to know best......
....but my searching of this site, looking at the configurator, looking at the MJLJ source code and looking at the hardware design shows no evidence of being able to switch between two maps.
I see that this feature is the the top item of the "What feature...?" poll, so I think it's a future thing
Hope this helps

The hardware is in place on
The hardware is in place on the V3 board to handle switching MAPs, I haven't completed the firmware changes yet.
Once it's available it'll be a simple firmware change. The "Option" line on the MJLJ board is what will be used- leave open for Map #1, connect to ground for Map #2.
Thanks,
Brent

Hi karel,
Hi karel,
Nice to hear of some else using this system on an RS turbo, I have done some 4000 miles, with out any major problems. I will extract the map that I’m using at the moment and post it up for you ..? The map has been developed by trial and error and now seem to drive well. The hardest part of mapping a boosted car is getting the on boost retard value correct with out doing damage to the engine…!!! .
I like the idea of being able to switch between to maps as this would over come some of the problems you come across with raising charge temps, I have plans to switch in a map with a grater amount of retard on boost as and when the charge temp gets higher than 40 degrees centigrade in an effort to safe gaud the engine when under hard abuse, but as I only have V2 of the controller I’m not sure if this will be possible…? As I have not had time to compare the circuit diagrams to see what the hardware differences are..?
Cheers
Steve

map - would be nice
Hi Steve,
I would say thank you very much, if You post your map (.cfg)
If You dont like to post it here, please drop me an email to karel72@gmail.com
I think, based on Your (our) success, many RS Turbo guys can choose MegaJoltLiteJR, instead of chipping their old ESCII
As i read Brent's words, map switching will be a (hopefully) soon coming feature
V3 hardware is capable, but the FW is not yet
After looking at V2 and V3 schematics, major difference is the TPS option, PIP input hardware and an output driver instead of discrete transistors and of course the map switching "OPTION"
cheers

success!
Hi Steve
Thanks for the map, it's working well, but i have tested only at the standard 0.5Bar boost.
I need to fit a -31 to get 1Bar? What is your boost control method? Simply turbo>bleed>actuator?
Getting the job finishet, i tougft about a larger intercooler, as my standard is a scrap-look.
Thanks again
Karel
