Got my MegaJolt a couple of weeks ago, finally got round today to getting all the parts together, and trying it out. I ordered it direct from Brent in the USA.
Installed all the Java software as detailed, tested it and working OK. Computer is an older laptop with its own serial port. Nothing else is using this port, I checked and double checked.
Powered the MegaJolt up using a 9V battery and flying leads, connected serial cable, double clicked icon of tuning software, and it opened up first time no problems, I was very pleased as this part of using the MegaJolt was the bit I was most reluctant about. Was able to change maps all OK. Happy with this, I powered down the board, disconnected the serial cable, shut down the PC.
Picked up the ECU to move it, got a good whack of electric shock off it. Obviously this set alarm bells ringing.
Tried to power it up once more to test it, this time nothing, cannot connect to it, the mjdiag.exe test program elsewhere on this forum does not detect it.
It seems to me that something has gone badly wrong here. I guess I need to start making tests and checks to the hardware, but don't have much of an idea where to start? Any advice welcome here. Is there anyone in the UK that builds their own boards that could take a look at mine and diagnose/repair the fault?
HELP!
Connecting to MegaJolt

Sorted!
PHEW!
It seems I was powering the MJ using the V2 pinout that I had found on the net.
Found the V3 pinout in a post from Brent here -> http://picasso.org/mjlj/?q=node/572
And now my MJ connects OK once more.....
Thank god for that, I was starting to panic!
