Comms Problem!!

Post by Greg Edwards »

Well I'm getting somewhere now!! I had no comms what so ever but now Its sort of connecting (I think & hope!!). Now I get a message saying 'read buffer was not correct: was 1; expected 128'. This seems to be simple enough but I cant find where or how you change the buffer length!!?

Any thoughts??

Thanks,
Greg

Sorry but....

Without wishing to put too much of a Christmas damper on thing, the buffer length error is a sign of bad comms :-(

There's no way to adjust the buffer length - if your comms is good, then you won't get this problem. Sorry.

I can't remember if you've posted your setup before, or what you've tried. Tell us more and I'm sure more help will be on its way...

Troubleshooting steps

Post by brentp »

Hi Greg,

Did you try the troubleshooting steps here? ht ... ode/354

Be sure to follow the particular troubleshooting steps using Hyperterminal.

Unfortunately due to the Java's poor Serial port support the tuning software is notoriously hard to set up correctly. I'm working on a solution for this.

Also, Try Oliver's DOS diagnostic software here: ht ... ode/530

Keep us posted on your progress.

Regards,
Brent
