Hi all,
I'm about converting an 1982 Ford Escort XR3i, CVH (mechanical, vacuum) ignition to MJLJ.
I've got an idea to fit a 72-2 trigger wheel to the camshaft, in the place of the dizzy. The camshaft rotates half as the crank, am i right? (2 single gaps in the opposite side of the wheel at 180 degrees, 35-gap-35-gap)
Do you think it is possible?
What is the minimum diameter for the wheel for stable operation
(minimal tooth-size)?
Is it possible to use a custom pickup device instead the original, or it has enough resolution for small (50-60 mm) trigger wheel?
Do you think that a Hall-pickup will do the job, replacing the original 4-tooth 4-gap equal-distance wheel for a 72-7 one?
Thanks for all suggestions,
Karel

72 teeth
Sounds as if it could work ok, would look quite mad... you would have to use the original pickup as the EDIS will mot work with an hall pick. As far as I know?
Good luck.
