I have a Sierra CVH cast timing wheel which I am going to fit to the botton pulley of a 2 litre Ford SOHC (Pinto) pulley. My question is this:
The timing wheel is only 5mm bigger than the pulley, so basically the "teeth" only protrude by 2.5 to 3mm from the pulley. Will the VR sensor be affected by the pulley being so close to the timing wheel?
I am now desparate to get the MJLJ setup complete as my distributor is now reaching full mechanical advance at 2500RPM which is way too early.

I think it's okay
Hello,
Mine's no more protruberant that that either and I've had it running on the EDIS box alone to date. I asked the same question a while ago and the general consensus was that it didn't matter.

Thanks
I've asked our electronics guys at work and they said the same... as the pulley is constant... i.e. solid (no teeth), it'll not alter the readings of the VR sensor...
Pully & Teeth
Absolutly correct. I fitted a custom trgger wheel to my Vauxhall pully and they are both the same size. Therefore the teeth do not stick out from the pully at all. It works perfectly.
