is my car suitable?

Post by snwbdr15 »

hi every1. i'm new to this site and am looking for an ignition system for my newly built engine. its a 1800cc 8v vw golf gti engine running on twin 40 dellorto carbs. other mods include 270degree cam, fully balanced and lightened and a 4-2-1 manifold. would megajolt be suitable for my car? and which version would i need? i want a pre-assembled kit. cheers

Hi,

Hi,

I believe others here have similar engine configurations- they use the EDIS 4 with MJLJ. If your cams are aggressive you'll probably prefer a unit configured with TPS, since you may get an irregular vacuum signal.

See the 'ordering' link above to see the purchasing options.

With that, do you have any ignition specific requirements?

none at all, just so long as it runs well and is reliable. it should rev to around 7k. its a single cam engine and its not very agressive. fast road.
