I did a search, could not find an answer.
Question: I recently Purchased a new VR sensor for my Zetec installation, but, how do I tell which end is postive and which is negative. The wires are the same color. Can I test for polarity somehow?
Thanks,
Rod

I find that a little surprising knowing the assistance usually available on this form.
I can't remember from my install how I determined it. I may have just been lucky when I connected them up.

As Rod H's post is from July
As Rod H's post is from July 2006, I suspect the problem may be solved
VR sensor polarity is a bit of a black art - if you have a complete EDIS setup then tracing wire colours and using the standard sensor connector will lead to a solution.
If not, getting the wires the wrong way round will not harm anything, but it won't work

....well you could hook the output up to an oscilloscope and see the polarity of the waveform around the missing tooth is as the trace on http://www.bgsoflex.com/mjl/mjl_edis_summary.html (i.e. negative to positive going), but that may be a bit extreme ...
