suitable for use on a 1990 BMW 325is?
hey i drive a fairly heavily modified BMW 325is, and i have been running into high rpm problems due to it's unadjustable ignition timing. I am not completley clear on how this megajolt system works. Is it basically a universal conversion to a ford DIS system? and would it be applicable to my car? Basically what i'm asking is, is this system sort of a stand-alone external computer system to control the igniton timing? and would it allow me to adjust the timing? has anyone done this on a 1990 bmw before anyways?
Hello, The MJLJ works in
Hello,
The MJLJ works in conjunction with a ford EDIS ignition module to create a fully programmable, stand-alone, crank-fired ignition system.
If your engine is 4, 6 or 8 cylinders and is even-fire (almost all are) then this system can be adapted to work.
Aside from wiring up the components, an essential part is adapting a 36-1 crank trigger wheel to your engine and mounting the sensor in the appropriate location. See <a href="http://picasso.org/mjlj/?q=node/view/2" ... /view/2</a>
Also see the "Information Library" link above, and browse the forums for examples of installation into various vehicles.
Best regards,
