...which way it runs.. the balance shaft is fine if its at engine speed, you just need a suitable toothed wheel, plenty about those in these pages! Obviously, any comments you find in a thread somewhere about the sensor being e.g. mounted in a specific place, would be incorrect, but otherwise the an...

I don't know if Brent has this in any plan to fix, but anyway you can avoid it with eg a timed relay, you can buy such from electronics suppliers as a "black box". Then just enable the line via the relay for first (say) 30s from ignition on...hopefully one won't rev it to bits in the first...

Hi, -I thought those Ford V4's had a crank pulley?? (or something at least), but it was a long time ago I looked at one :v) -So there is a pulley for the alternator/water pump on the balance shaft? (balance shaft is at the left looking from the front I remember, crank pulley central of course) -Derm...

Hi, Don't know if it helps or is even relevant but I noticed the following in your pictures Luca; Your trigger wheel does not look as if it is exactly 50:50 mark:space, i.e. the "teeth" are not the same size as the "gaps"... is that so??? -if it is, that would mess it up, I belie...

I would advise u to screen them. Sometimes they can work without but I would not do it, it's not hard.

Early Ford Granada (Scorpio) Cosworths used the coil pack and maybe the EDIS, I forget, or possibly other upmarket Scorpio's from the late 80's early 90's...

Hi, The VR should use a screened cable, and that screen should be connected at the EDIS end only. This is how Ford did it also. The EDIS and MJL can both be connected to, for example the normal switched ignition supply. The MJL and EDIS do not themselves really take much current at all, it is the co...

Answers; 1/ No, you don't need to seperately ground an EDIS coil or the EDIS module as such - just follow the wiring info which is around on the net if you look, or these pages. There is of course a ground point for the EDIS etc. 2/ Again, quite a few pictures around the net. In fact the sensors for...

Well my own totally untested <opinion> would be that MAP is best, but you need to be sure you have a good MAP pickup point, if it's single carb engine that helps, you'd want to minimise pulsing in the tract....perhaps a 'neck' in the vac. pipe would be needed? (smooths the flow).

Q1 and 2, the info and the files are on this site, have a look around. Q3, yes, if you use suitable (small) bore pipe etc. you can do this, you need all the cylinders to get sensible readings. There are cars out there like this standard, 'tho you won't see them often (my mates AMV8 for one). -Dermo...

Hi,
As I understand, some do and some don't, and the ones that <<DO>> are no use for a MJL type project. (since the map sensor is in the MJL of course).

Screen the VR sensor wires, Ford did, and ground the module end.
