Hi Guys,
My mini (1.3 turbo setup) had a bit of a missfire even under light throttle but when RPM got to about 3,000 the ignition would just drop out and the tacho would read 0.
I worked out the VR sensor was too far away from the trigger wheel and then the rpm was fast enough the sensor was not getting a clear pulse.
does anyone know when the spec should be for the air gap of the VR sensor to the trigger wheel?
Thanks
Grant

Personally on a mini-sized trigger wheel I would advise a little closer 0.75-1mm - closer never hurts but beyond 1mm is where you start getting problems. On larger trigger wheels I still advise 0.75-1mm but below 5" you need to rapidly decrease the gap. For instance on a 2.5" wheel I reccommend a 0.25mm air gap.
