My install is getting there, the car is now running on a 2D map. I am really impressed with the MJLJ and will post some pictures of what I have done once it is finished!
My question is to those running a Ford Crossflow on MJLJ. What have you done with the distributor? I was planning to remove it and blank off the hole with a plate. However, as the dizzy is only held on with one bolt I was reluctant in case the plate loosened itself. It would be useful to know what other people have done.

I used my lathe to make a steel plug to fit in the hole, with a groove for an o-ring - it imitates the outside of the distributor shaft. This is held in place by the same collar that used to hold the dizzy. If you have a lathe it's an easy job - if you haven't, then it'll take 10 minutes to measure the dizzy shaft and draw up a sketch, and a local machine shop can make you a plug out of mild steel.
I don't think that a plate would do it, as you'd never get a good oil seal.
It is worth getting rid of the dizzy though - it gives you an amazing amount of room on that side of the engine!

I don't have a Ford crossflow, but will be plugging the dizzy opening in my VW type1. I am having a steel piece machined to fit the opening just like the distributor with an o-ring groove. The dizzy is a one bolt holdown just like your Fords. I am probably going to have a tube and cap welded to this plug(with a large hole in it of course) so I have a decent oil filler. I don't have the stock filler/generator stand of the original. I cool my motor with a 911 fan, and the oil filler that came with it is hokey.
