Hello again,
It's all sorted and running now. Chuffed to bits. Pics and write up to follow in the Powered by Megajolt forum.
The only thing I need now is a functioning Tacho. My old TIM one doesn't register off the tach out signal. Does anyone have any experience with this type of tacho? It required a +ve and -ve from the old coil, so maybe the three diode trick in the installation guide would work? Any thoughts welcome.
If not, which one should I buy? Needs to be pod mount and relatively cheap.
Thanks in advance.

The 'three diode trick' is the standard method for a tacho that is driven off the coil, but....
....first try putting the PIP signal into the tacho +ve (tacho -ve to earth) as that might work and is simpler.
If that doesn't work, then remove the PIP signal from the tacho and then try the normal 'three diode trick' ...
...and if that still doesn't work, then still using that circuit, try adding a 1K resistor from the tacho+ve to earth
If none of them work, come back and ask again!
