RS232 Lead to Laptop

I'm a bit of a newbie to this so here goes.

The RS232 lead supplied with my Megajolt has a male/female ends with 9 pins/holes. My laptop though doesn't have an RS232 male or female port, only the 15 pin port for a monitor. Is there another lead i can buy with a 9 pin male end and an alternative end to connect to the laptop? What COMM do i select when i have this lead on the software installed? I have firmware 3.0.

You need to use a USB slot on your laptop and a suitable USB to serial converter - one of these will suit you, sir

When you will install the adapter it will assign a com port for you - just configure the Configurator to use it and you're good to go...
