Fitting a TPS to a Weber DGV down-draft carb

Has anyone fitted a TPS to Weber 32/36 DGV (or DGAV) down-draft carb?

If so, do you have any pictures?

I'm looking for clues...

I changed to side draft just before going MegaJolt, so I haven't actually done what you are asking.

My initial idea would be to mount a bracket to the top flange of the carb (where the air filter mounts), although I'm not sure how to extend the throttle spindle.

These are only from looking at pictures of the carb, as I can't get to the garage until next weekend. I'll have a look at my old 32/36 then to try and get a better idea. Sorry I can't be of more help at the moment.

I notice that from elsewhere that you have just got a TPS from a Fiesta. It will only rotate one way, so will need to be mounted on a particular side of the carb to suit it's direction of rotation.

I made this mistake with my first on and had to go back to the scrappie to get on that turned the other way! (The first one was off a Sierra, my second was off a Fiesta).

I guess I am lucky then, I have two 44IDFs, mounted on tall manifolds on either end of a VW type1. The throttle shafts turn opposite each other so I just have to mount it on the right one. Mine is off a US Escort.

More by luck than judgement, it turns the way I want it to! :D

I think I've cracked the problem - should have a solution built by the end of tomorrow, if I have the materials I want on my bits-and-pieces shelf.

Well, I've stuck to my prediction! :D

I have attached a couple of pictures of my carb's new tps and bracket. It cost me about £5 including the tps and connector - not a bad result for a day's work!

The silver-coloured angle bracket is now in the process of being sprayed black.

Very nice - got any more £2.35 TPS's? There's a cottage industry in buying at £2.35 and selling at £10 or more on eBay!
