The coil pack annotations are correct, its a coil pack not a distributor.
A coil pack like this is effectively 2 coils that fire from both ends so when a spark is sent through plug lead to cylinder 1 a wasted spark also goes to plug 3, coil packs usually pair odd and even cylinders together hence 1 + 3 and 2 + 4

Yes, I know that. But at least in my installation - cyl1 and cyl 4 fire together with a wasted spark on cyl 4 when cyl 1 ignites - and same with cyl 2 & cyl 3.snapperpaul wrote:The coil pack annotations are correct, its a coil pack not a distributor.

All those who believe in telekinesis, raise my hand now !
Look right to me
Seems the same as I had mine wired to start with, before fitting the Rev-limit module.
Only thing I did was move the earths/shields to seperate pins, they are all common inside the EDIS unit.
My simple diagram (modified from one on here)

sorry paul, you are correct. i have not come across a motor with that firing order - just my lack of wide experience i guess - and had neglected that possibility.paulc wrote:mine is also 1-4-3-2 (VW Type 4)
So, that means that 1 and 3 should fire together and 2 and 4 should fire together? (for this application)
