Hi Brent Feel a bit guilty 'cos it's not fitted to my megajolt. I am about 2 weeks away from start up on my Zetec Caterham 7 conversion and have fitted a DTA ecu as i want to go injection in the near future. The DTA has simillar issues driving Tacho's so i will let you know how i get on. I used rayc...

That bell housing will hold a type 9 box (at least it should, the bolt pattern looks right), unless the type 9 you have is a long input shaft one out of a v6. In which case caterham do a spacer plate to allow for the extra length of the input shaft. Apologies. Just looked at the second U tube clip a...

It's a v3 tps controller. It works from a space point of view, but wasn't sure about how much heat the EDIS generates, and whether the megajolt could cope, hence a sheet of alloyand stand-offs to give some heat sink capacity. Also does the case of the EDIS need to be grounded? Thanks for the speedy ...

EDIS fitting to megajolt case
Is there any good reason not to attach the EDIS unit directly to the top of the Megajolt case. More specifically i want to attach the EDIS to an aluminium plate that would also hold my fuse block and ignition switched power relay, but attach this to the case with 3 short metal standoffs. I am a bit ...

spiting back
Where are you located? If you are midlands based, a trip to Northampton Motorsport is to be recomended. They are happy with carbs and also megajolt mapping on their rollers, I think they used to be around £90 an hour plus parts if you need to get new jets or chokes (not sure if they carry stock of c...

spit back
Do you have any other ram pipes that you could try? Spit back on Webers can be a resonance effect, which you can move around the rev range with longer or shorter ram tubes. I think shorter should move it further up the range, possibly to a point above your rev limit, but may alter your power curve. ...

Testing an edis unit
Is there any way to test an EDIS unit for correct function off the car? or do you just test it by instalation? Just wondering as mine will be a little difficult to get at once on the car, so would like to avoid having to pull it out again if its no good.

cranking advance
Thanks Brent, covers all the ground.
I was just unsure of whether EDIS was designed to do advance of less than 10 degrees. As it will, i can set my cranking advance to 5 degrees and give my starter a bit of an easier time.

Can megajolt do advance of less than 10 degrees
Can the cranking advance in cell 0,0 be set to less than the default 10 degrees of the EDIS system? or would i need to alter the position of the toothed wheel to allow a real 5 degrees, and alter the running advance table to compensate. What is the permissible advance range that can be programed if ...

Crank trigger
Thanks for the pic. makes it all pretty clear. I have used these people for weber bits in the past http://www.sciperformance.co.uk/ website is a bit old and doesn't list all that they sell, but worth phoning them, were cheaper than Burton for the weber TPS that i am using.

trigger wheel
Thanks for the swift reply. Sorry for the lack of clarity, I was talking about the trigger wheel. The weber sensor should be OK with ford components as it is the same sensor that is used on early Cosworth Sierras, though i dont know if this had EDIS. Does the kit include a longer crank pulley bolt?

Question about the weber trigger wheel kit
Hi there from another crossflow user. I was considering the weber kit as i know of several Caterham crossflows that have used this setup with megajolt, but i was wondering if the kit is designed to fit infront of or behind the standard crank pulley. I know people have fitted them to the back face of...

Interfacing megajolt and squirt
Hello Brent Neat looking MR2. I noticed that you have a megajolt and a megasquirt on this car. I assume that the 'jolt is doing sparks and the 'squirt is doing fuel. How are you driving the 'squirt? I ask as this is the long term plan for my Caterham crossflow, and i had assumed that i would have to...
