Yes, it does! I didn't start the engine since the carbs aren't installed. But everything else works. I can drive the shift light LEDs and even my ignition configuration switch works great.

Dominik.

Hi Ryan and Van, first of all: Thanks a lot for your help! In my understanding - as a total electronic noob *g* - it doesn't make a difference from where the power comes. 12V are 12V. So, did I understand you correctly, that it is a "temporal" problem? The MJ is not designed to get power o...

Shiftlight-Upgrade: Problems with wiring

Hello everybody, today I upgraded my Megajolt with five shiftlight LEDs. They include series resistors and could be connected to 12V directly. As an anti-theft protection (open Super Seven kit car), the power supply for the MJ goes over a hidden switch. So normally the power LED only glows, if both ...

Shift lights: Which LED size to chose?

Hi, I am planning to upgrade a shift light. The LEDs I intend to use are available in different sizes from 3 to 10mm. What size would you recommend? I tend to use 5mm, what do you think? Cold start: Water temperature compensation

Hello everybody, my engine (Ford XFlow) is quite heavily tuned (head porting, cam etc.). It runs very well when warmed up. But with the current cold wheater it takes some time to start and to run smooth. On "zetecinside.com" I found a temperature compensation table to improve the cold star...

Hi B@man, thanks A LOT for your hint! Honestly I didn't really get it, but my Dad reformed the tacho this way. And what should I say? IT WORKS!!!! I guess he had too much time, because he made a drawing of his modifications. Curiously electrical engineers like him enjoy designing this kind of drawin...

Tachometer (RVI type) drops to zero at 5.500rpm

Hello everybody, as you can see in the "Powered by MJLJ Gallery", my Ford Crossflow powered Super Seven is working pretty well on Megajolt for two days now. But there is still an annoying issue with my tachometer. It is about a quite antique Stewart Warner gauge. As far as I understand, th...

Selfmade Excel tool for mapping and Ford Xflow map

Hello, after reading some articles about ignition timing, I intended to bring my new knowledge in an excel sheet which creates a map automatically by taking my inputs into consideration. At first sight it seems to work pretty well, although the map still needs some final fine-tuning due to rounding ...

Map conversion: TPS --> MAP? And MAP load bins?

Hello everybody, introductory I have to admit, that I am a total newbie in the field of Megajolt and my engine is not yet working with the ignition (but hopefully this evening it will :D ). I own a Ford crossflow engine which is fitted to a Super Seven style kit car. Unfortunately I only found one m...

"massive" wheel? the xflow one is about as small as you'll find in an automotive application. OK, "massive" is the wrong expression. I rather meant "plane" A welded ring gear style wheel is an alternative but it's more work. If your pulley is like the ones we stock the...
