Can-X Module Wiring

I have a Can-X module for a Mk1 RCP, and was looking at connecting it to my test rig CAN bus. I looked on the website and can see that the pins on the actual RCP socket run from 1 to 8 (left to right), and can see that I need to connect pins 2 and 3 to my CAN Bus, however I'm not sure of the orienta...

I have ordered it already :) (request 239)

Here you go. We currently have 3 modules in stock, lovingly hand built and tested. http://www.autosportlabs.com/product/canx-can-bus-expansion-module/ Hi Brent, I just went to order one, but the shipping costs to the UK are as much as the actual device. Is the shipping cost a flat fee or can it be ...

So there's nothing special about the CANx module that makes it OBD2 specific. for a generic CAN interface you would just connect GND and CAN+ and CAN-. We'll have documentation and pinouts when it's released. -Brent Hi Brent, Digging up an old thread, but how can I get my hands on a CanX module for...

Function Generator

Can anyone tell me the spec of a signal/function generator that is capable of generating all the signal types I might expect to capture on the RCP? I want to simulate sensors in the warmth of my lounge. I've seen this, but it seems (too) cheap: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-DDS-Function-Signal-Gener...

Hi Brent, Hi - Which link above is broken / does not work? The github one, but I guess it could be my work proxy.... We are gauging interest in the CANx module to determine how big of a production run we want to do. In the meantime we've been creating one-off units. I'm absolutely interested in one ...

So I have a Mk1, and have been waiting for the CANx module since I bought it (it was the ONLY reason I bought an RCP). The link above doesn't work. What's happening with this?

My car doesn't have an OBD2 port, but does have CAN hi & lo from the ECU.

Think I might be being dumb. Just looked on my ECU doc and it has a CAN High and a CAN Low pinout. Id there a pinout diagram for the CAN-OBD2 module from Autosportlabs?

Will there be a CAN adapter that doesn't require an OBD-II port? My ECU talks CAN, but doesn't have an OBD port.

Not using a tachx board, just a feed straight into the RCP. It's a digital feed from the ECU so shouldn't need any additional modules (hopefully).

I've read other peoe have used the trigger wire from one of the Coil on plugs, might try that?!

Multiple Issues - maybe self inflicted...

Well, my experience of the RCP is not going too well, and I'm seeking some reassurance that it is worth persevering. Long story short, I've had to flash the firmware 3 times and reinstall the bootloader using the SAM-BA utility once, but now that I have a dedicated XP laptop for the RCP, I have got ...

I connected to my ecu and have identified that the tach out from the ecu is 2 pulses per rev, which is nice. But neither my rev counter, or the rcp are reading any revs. Could it be that the output from the ecu is under driven.

Analogue Inputs Messed Up

I finally got round to installing my RCP, and have only a few requirements until the CAN adapter is sorted: 1. Get the RCP to turn on my GoPro when it detects voltage on an input 2. Read a pulsed RPM input from my ECU So when trying to achieve requirement 1, I wired a simple 12v switched circuit int...

Sounds good. Let me know when you have something you want to test. I think I mentioned elsewhere, but the Syvecs CAN output is quite flexible, so could be a good testing ground.
