Ey up Rob, just connect 1-2-3-4 from the coil pack to plugs 1-2-3-4, when the missing tooth is at tdc that will be the no.1 plug firing if the no1 piston is at the top of the cylinder,, does that help any,,

dont forget a knock has to be able to sence the sound frequency your particular cars knock makes, different motors have different knock frequency, there is a simple formula for working it out based on bore and stroke i think

soft limit
on the newest firmware the rev limit retards the timing to 0 which acts like a soft limiter, it works well

proper connection
for best results with carbs and a map sensor you should have both your manifold branches connected via a small tube with a t-peice in the middle, the map feed is then taken from the the middle via the t-peice, you shouldnt get much pulsing that way,. incidently for 2 twin carbs all 4 manifold inlets...
